We read two versions of The Gingerbread Man, then compared them. We used a Venn Diagram to help us see what was alike and what was different.
We also read different versions of the Gingerbread Man. Here are some of the ones we read:
After reading many different versions, each of us chose which book was our favorite. We put our names on a graph and discussed what we noticed about the graph.
Last week, Mrs. Ewenstein invited us to the library where she announced which book won the Caldecott award, and which books were honored. We got to read previous Caldecott winning books with our reading buddies! Then we got to hear Dr. Brown, Ms. Rodigues, and Mrs. Henry read the new Caldecott books to us. It was a great celebration!
Happy New Year to you and your families! I hope you all had a restful vacation. The Baker Kindergarten classes came together to celebrate by counting down from 10, throwing birdseed into the air, and blowing our noise makers as loud as we could : ) In class, KGP decorated party hats to wear for the celebration and wrote our hopes for the new year. We have had a great start to 2016, and I can't wait to see what else the new year brings!
